Jerreh Saidybah  

Director of Operations

Coach Saidybah is a graduate from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell where he played 4 years in the NCAA. He earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology. While attending the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, Coach Saidybah earned academic excellence two years consecutively - on Dean's List.

Coach Saidybah was a standout and an exciting performer in the class room and on the court. He played his CEGEP career at Vanier College (Montreal, Quebec) where he led the Cheetahs to Provincial and CCAA National Championship tournament in his Freshmen year. During his first year as a Cheetah, Coach Saidybah led the CEGEP league in most block shots with 2.19BLKS per game.

After graduating from the University of Massachussetts-Lowell, Coach Saidybah went on to play in the IBL with USA All-Stars team and Euro Tour with USA Basketball Select. He has since been holding successful individual player development programs throughout Edmonton. 

 

Coach Saidybah is also a Certified Basketball Coach under the NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program). He has been coaching youth basketball for more than 9 years (Boston, Ottawa and Edmonton).

Sheena Butt 
Marketing Director & Coach

Sheena is a graduate from Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario, where she played 4 years in the OCAA (Ontario College Athletics Association). While in College she earned two Diplomas; Graphic Design and Early Childhood Education. 

During her College Career, Sheena was a stand-out Student-Athlete. She lead her team as Captain for 3 years of her career, was amongst top scorers on her team and was a 3-year Eastern Conference All-Star (2002-2005), earning Eastern Conference All-Star Tournament MVP in 2003.  

After completing her College Career, Sheena took her talents to the Coaching aspect of the sport. Spending 3 years as a Program Co-Supervisor in Ottawa, Ontario at the Ray Friel Recreation Complex, Sheena was able to develop and implement programming while overseeing all sports camps. Sheena also spent some time as an Assistant Coach for the AAA Midget Girls Ottawa Shooting Stars Travelling Basketball Team in Ottawa. She spent many years as a Provincial Representative for SNYB (Steve Nash Youth Basketball), and Reebok Raptorball, respectively.  Sheena is a Nationally Certified Basketball Coach under the NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program) and continues to direct and facilitate programs across Canada. She is currently the Director for Muslim Women's Basketball Association and a Canadian Regional Sales Representative for Atlanta based company, Sports Fan Hijabs. Sheena brings over 15 years of experience and knowledge to Capital City Hoops and we are looking forward to the impact she plans to make in Youth Sports!

Aaron Johnson
Director of Communications & Player Development  Coach

Coach Johnson earned his Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta and graduated with honors in 2005.

 

Coach Johnson was a three sport athlete in high school, playing basketball, football and varsity baseball in Brooks, Alberta, where he won multiple zone championships in baseball and in basketball. After a very short baseball career, Coach Johnson turned his focus towards coaching basketball.

 

After coaching the Highlands Jr. High School boys and girls teams to their best records in over twenty years, Coach Johnson embarked on a nine year high school coaching career, which included stops at Eastglen High School in Edmonton, Spruce Grove Composite High School, and the prestigious basketball program at Chestermere High School in Southern Alberta. Coach Johnson recently stepped back from coaching high school basketball in order to coach his own children. He has been coaching youth basketball for the last seven years and has taken his teams to provincial playoffs in each of those years. In addition to his role, Coach Johnson is also the former Director of Coach and Player Development for Northwest Basketball in Edmonton. Out of all of his accomplishments as a coach, Coach Johnson is most proud of having been able to help over a dozen of his former players earn basketball scholarships at various institutions throughout Canada and the United States. With his background in Education, Coach Johnson is a firm believer in the development of the Student Athletes, especially in education.  

 

Coach Johnson has run several youth basketball camps over the years and is a certified coach under the NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program).
